This session introduces educators to Ohio’s Integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports, the
state’s framework for delivering effective, data-informed academic and non-academic
supports to all students. Participants will learn the key components of the ODEW model—
Universal Screening, Data-Based Decision Making, Continuum of Supports, Progress
Monitoring, Team-Based Problem Solving, Shared Leadership, Professional Capacity, and
Communication and Collaboration—and how these elements work together to meet the
needs of students who are below, at, or above grade-level expectations.
In the morning, teams will explore how to begin creating a coherent local IMTSS that is aligned
with the state framework. The optional afternoon work session provides teams with time to
begin organizing their systems and next steps with the facilitators’ support.
This PD is designed for district and building leaders, teacher leaders, and support staff working
to strengthen a unified system of supports for all learners.
