James “Ike” Holzapfel is a teaching and learning consultant with the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio, bringing more than 20 years of experience in public education. He began his career in 2001, serving as a mathematics teacher for 10 years and a PK–8 administrator for another 10 years before transitioning into educational consulting in 2021.
Areas of Expertise:
Supporting districts in selecting and implementing high-quality instructional materials, particularly in mathematics and social studies.
Strengthening instructional systems, using data to improve teaching and learning
Establishing routines that create dependable experiences for every learner.
Ike partners collaboratively with districts to design customized professional learning, including workshops, pull-out sessions, and one-on-one coaching, with an emphasis on practical, sustainable improvement.
