James “Ike” Holzapfel is a teaching and learning consultant with the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio, bringing more than 20 years of experience in public education. He began his career in 2001, serving as a mathematics teacher for 10 years and a PK–8 administrator for another 10 years before transitioning into educational consulting in 2021.

Areas of Expertise:
  • Supporting districts in selecting and implementing high-quality instructional materials, particularly in mathematics and social studies. 

  • Strengthening instructional systems, using data to improve teaching and learning

  • Establishing routines that create dependable experiences for every learner.

Ike partners collaboratively with districts to design customized professional learning, including workshops, pull-out sessions, and one-on-one coaching, with an emphasis on practical, sustainable improvement.
