Tom Hanicak is the School Climate Regional Field Coordinator with the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio supporting SST regions 2, 3, 4, and 5 and assisting in the continued expansion and implementation of Positive Behavioral interventions & Supports (PBIS) across the Northeast Quadrant of Ohio. Tom began his career as an art therapist, working with children residing in residential treatment centers, alternative schools and domestic violence shelters in both Ohio and St. Louis. During this time Tom's interest in the field education grew, so he continued his graduate studies at John Carroll University attaining licensure as a School Psychologist, and then School District Administrator. Tom worked in those roles for 10 years before joining State Support Region 3 as a consultant. As a consultant with SST3 Tom utilized his skills and creativity to support the diverse needs of school districts across Northeast Ohio with a focus on curriculum, assessment, PBIS, special education and equity. 

Tom is a visual artist and painter, completing illustrations for book publishers and is a featured visual note taker for many conferences and organizations. 

Tom and his wife have two children and live in South Euclid.
